Collection: Duy Huynh

Born in Vietnam, Huynh arrived in the U.S. at a young age. As an immigrant, he drew inspiration from his experiences of assimilating. As English wasn't his first language, he has long been fascinated by the ambiguities of words and phrases. He explores this with the use of symbols and metaphors in a fantastical and narrative manner. Reoccurring subjects include moths/butterflies, boats, trains, musical instruments, flowers, trees, umbrellas, etc. You can find his work in galleries around the country including Lark & Key Gallery where he co-owns with his wife. With a desire to have his work accessible, you can also view his work on public murals, see him painting live on stage, or even collaborating with writers and musicians.
