Jan's mother was an artist, so she grew up familiar with all kinds of art mediums. Her art career was varied before becoming who she is now. It's her masterful, colored pencil work that won her "Best of Show" and 1st place in drawing at the "National Endangered Species Society Art Show" in the 1980s. Today, you'll see her artwork into the major wildlife art shows in the US and Canada. Her artwork has been published as prints, posters, wallpaper borders, puzzles, needlecraft kits, etc.
