Britt Hallowell

Britt is a self-taught artist. She uses the natural weathering process created by natural elements; thus, real rust is utilized in her work. Plaster is also incorporated in multiple layers over a period of several days. This results in artwork that is completely unique and simply cannot be duplicated due to the environmental changes of temperature and humidity. “I love working with rust and textures because it allows me to create minimalist designs with bold contrasts that are simple and yet very intricate in their nature.” Britt's goal is to create artwork that evokes positive emotions from the viewer with the use of imagery, color, and splatter.
